Counting the Omer – Feeding the Land, not the Landfill
Wake up each morning with a cup of coffee and feed the coffee grounds to your compost pile. You’ll both feel better. Add the shells from your breakfast eggs, compost bins like egg shells as much as we like eggs!
Blessing for Day Ten
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָֽׁנוּ בְּמִצְוֹתָיו, וְצִוָּֽנוּ עַל סְפִירַת הָעֹֽמֶר.
Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu melech ha-olam asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav vitzivanu al s’firat ha-omer.
Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of the universe, who makes us holy with mitzvot, and commands us concerning the counting of the Omer.
.הַיּוֹם עֲשָׂרָה יָמִים שֶׁהֵם שָׁבֽוּעַ אֶחָד וּשְׁלֹשָׁה יָמִים לָעֹֽמֶר
Hayom asarah yamim shehem shavua echad ushloshah yamim la-omer.
Today is ten days, which is one week and three days of the Omer.
