Counting the Omer – Feeding the Land, not the Landfill
If you would like compost bins like this in your backyard, the Green Team would gladly assist. The project can be completed in a single afternoon. You can also find compost bins that you can purchase from local garden centers. Then your family can produce your own rich fertilizer from vegetable and fruit scraps that used to be considered garbage!

Blessing for Day Sixteen
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָֽׁנוּ בְּמִצְוֹתָיו, וְצִוָּֽנוּ עַל סְפִירַת הָעֹֽמֶר.
Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu melech ha-olam asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav vitzivanu al s’firat ha-omer.
Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of the universe, who makes us holy with mitzvot, and commands us concerning the counting of the Omer.
.הַיּוֹם שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר יוֹם שֶׁהֵם שְׁנֵי שָׁבוּעוֹת וּשְׁנֵי יָמִים לָעֹֽמֶר
Hayom shishah asar yom shehem sh’nei shavuot ushnei yamim la-omer.
Today is sixteen days, which is two weeks and two days of the Omer.
